Buffalo Sabres History: Stanley Cup Final

It’s been 17 years to the day since the Buffalo Sabres won their last Stanley Cup Final game.

Of course, no Buffalo Sabres fan likes to think about that year – I’ll still always hold a grudge against Brett Hull – but that event didn’t happen until June 19th. For now, let’s just focus on today.

So back to June 15, 1999.

The Buffalo Sabres and Dallas Stars faced off for game four of the NHL’s Stanley Cup Final.

First Niagara Center, known at the time as the lovable Marine Midland Arena, hosted some 18,595 fans as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Stars by a score of 2-1 in regulation.
