The Buffalo Sabres are pressing on forwards with their final rebuilding season where they are looking to find out what final pieces are missing. Something that I brought up over the summer was what the Sabres were missing as a whole; a number one defenseman. The Buffalo Sabres were lacking that key defender that would lead them in the defensive end and quarterback the power play, but to my expectation Rasmus Ristolainen has broken out and is finally showing that he is going to live up to his potential.
When the Buffalo Sabres took Rasmus Ristolainen at the 2013 draft at #8 overall, they were hoping that they found their top cornerstone defenseman.
