Fans of the Buffalo Sabres haven't had much to cheer about over the past few years but watching Tage Thompson play has been one of the few bright spots. It was a slow start to his career with only 18 goals through his first 145 NHL regular season games.
However, the past four seasons has been a different story and he has been the team's top goal-scorer with an average of 39.5 goals per season over that stretch. He has broken the 40 goal mark in two of those seasons and if he does that again this season, he will join some of the franchise's all-time greats.
