The Buffalo Sabres allowed their fans to vote for their goal song prior to the 2015-16 season. Somehow, despite the fact that the song “Swords of a Thousand Men” made it all the way to the final round of voting – hello, a sabre is a type of sword, people! – the song “Let Me Clear My Throat” by DJ Kool became the official goal song of the Sabres.
I’ll admit: I was pretty excited when I heard DJ Kool was going to become a household name to a whole new generation of Buffalo Sabres fans. And yeah, the handful of times I got to watch the Sabres play (and actually score) during the 2015-16 season, I was digging the song choice.
