The Buffalo Sabres made quite the splash last season when they sent Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux , and a conditional pick to the Winnipeg Jets for Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and the rights to Jason Kasdorf.
It was the match made in heaven. Evander Kane got a fresh start, Tyler Myers got a fresh start, we don’t have to worry about Drew Stafford anymore, and oh wait, the trade actually made the Buffalo Sabres better in the long run by making them worse in the short term.
Evander Kane – despite being a Buffalo Sabres forward since mid-February, has not played or practiced with his team since coming over, because of season ending shoulder surgery.
