Buffalo Sabres Complete Minor League Trade

As previously reported in last night’s trade deadline tracker, the Buffalo Sabres completed a seven-player deal with the Ottawa Senators involving mostly AHL players on Saturday night.

The biggest pieces getting moved by the Buffalo Sabres are now-former Rochester Americans forwards Jason Akeson and Phil Varone.

Amerks defenseman Jerome Leduc also heads to Ottawa in the trade.

Akeson, 25, registered 30 points in 52 games with the Amerks this season. He was second on the team in scoring, also registering 18 penalty minutes the season.

Akeson also had a team-high 136 shots.
