Buffalo Sabres Assign, Release Several Prospects

With the Buffalo Sabres Prospects Challenge in the books, and with NHL training camp beginning in just a few days, the Sabres have assigned several players to junior/AHL teams, and released several others.

As can be expected, the Sabres assigned Czech 2019 draft pick Lukas Rousek to Sparta Praha, and goaltender Matthew Welsh to Charlottetown of the QMJHL.

Stephen Harper, Bobby MacIntyre and Sebastian Vidmar were all free-agent invites at the Prospects Challenge. All three have now been released from their tryouts.

Just as the Buffalo Sabres prepare for the training camp, which opens on Thursday, the AHL’s Rochester Americans are also getting ready for camp.
