Last night, the Stanley Cup Final kicked off with game one between the San Jose Sharks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Every year, even if the Buffalo Sabres aren’t in it, the Stanley Cup is no doubt one of the most exciting moments of the season, and this year, it seems like it really could go either way.
Monday night, the Penguins narrowly pulled off a 3-2 victory to take a 1-0 series lead after a close, tight game that could’ve easily gone either way.
For a while, everything seemed tight. Then the Penguins broke open the scoring with two goals in just 1:08 thanks to Bryan Rust and Conor Sheary midway through the first period, and it seemed like – here we go, now we can start getting some goals.
