Meier is the highest-ranked QMJHL player entering the 2015 NHL Draft. Coming from a team that has produced stars like Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon, Meier is the next star in line for the NHL.
Meier, 18, has been playing in North America with Halifax since 2013. This year, he was named the QMJHL’s Best Professional Prospect and led the Mooseheads in goals (44) and overall registered 90 points in 61 games, including a franchise-record 23 power-play goals.
Meier had 10 game-winning goals this past season, which was tied for second overall in the Canadian Hockey League.
