Few softball teams are going to win many games giving up seven, nine, and eleven runs at a time, especially with a young roster like Buffalo's. Struggles from the pitching circle and on defense sent the Bulls this weekend to an 0-5 record at Coastal Carolina's Chanticleer Challenge.
The three-day stretch saw the Bulls lose twice each to Memphis and Furman, and once to host Coastal Carolina. All told UB was outscored by an average of 9-4. Once again the Bulls put forward their best effort on the opening day, but gave up five runs in the final two innings to drop an 11-7 result against Memphis and could only find runs in a single frame in an afternoon 7-3 loss to Furman.
