BUFFALO, NY – After a huge week at the plate, University at Buffalo junior outfielder Vinny Mallaro was named Mid-American Conference east division Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first time in Mallaro's career he has earned the weekly accolade.
Mallaro finished off his impressive week with a .429 batting average while leading the Bulls to a 2-1 opening MAC weekend over the Toledo Rockets. Mallaro collected a team-high six hits including a pair of home runs and a pair of doubles while scoring four runs and adding a team-best seven RBI's.
