The Buffalo Bulls recruiting class continues to grow into late January. UB has a verbal commitment from Elijah Barnwell, a running back and line backer from Piscataway New Jersey.
Barnwell is the brother of Rutgers defensive back Nadir Barnwell. But it’s not his blood line alone that got Rutgers interested in this running back.
His body of work in high school added up to 5,728 yards on the ground for 75 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball Barnwell was named all area defensive player of the year.
Scouts have said that he possesses good size for both the running back and defensive back positions, though maybe a bit small for an FBS linebacker.
