BUFFALO, NY – The Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame announced its newest induction class and it includes a pair of former University at Buffalo standout coaches. Former wrestling head coach Ed Michael and former women's basketball head coach Sal Buscaglia were among the announced 12-member class.
Over his 21 seasons at UB (1971-91), Michael guided the Bulls to the most wins in program history - 215. He led UB to the New York State Collegiate Wrestling Championship seven times and had the Bulls in the top 20 NCAA rankings an impressive 13 occasions. During his tenure, Michael coached 105 individual tournament champions, 27 New York State individual collegiate champions and an astounding 39 All-Americans.
