BUFFALO, NY – Matthew Mercer and Devon Patterson were both awarded Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors after their performances at the 2019 Sam Howell Invitational hosted by Princeton University last Saturday, the conference announced.
Mercer, a long-distance specialist for the Bulls who also competes in the schools cross country program, broke a personal best time in the 3000m steeple chase event, crossing the line in fourth place with a time of 9:04.28. The performance currently ranks Mercer third in the Mid-American Conference and 17th in the NCAA East Region.
