BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo track and field junior Leon Atkins, who specializes in middle distance events, was named Track & Field Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference for his performance this past weekend at the Wolverine Invite, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. This marks the first time in his UB career that Atkins has received the weekly honor.
On Saturday at the Wolverine Invite, hosted by the University of Michigan at the U-M Indoor Track, Atkins had the most impressive individual victory on the day for the Bulls, which came in the 600m event.
