Late runs were the name of the game today for UB Softball, who rode a couple of homers and a ninth-inning rally to an 8-7 win over Wright State and nearly upset the SEC's Arkansas Razorbacks in a 15-14 (without extras!) barnburner. UB had scored three runs in the top of the seventh against Arkansas, the tournament hosts, before losing on a walk-off home run.
Against Wright State Danielle Lallos and Courtney Gilbert each homered for the Bulls while Brieanna Baker pitched into the fifth. Gilbert's shot, in the sixth, tied the game after UB had lost a 2-0 lead, while Charlotte Miller relieved Baker and ushered the game into extra innings.
