Bret McCormick, sports editor at The Rock Hill Herald, has tweeted that former Rock Hill wide receiver and current Iowa Western Community College player Anthony Johnson has given a verbal commitment to Buffalo.
Johnson had drawn interest from several teams and according to the recruiting service 247 he had offers on the table from Marshall and South Alabama.
During his senior year at Rock Hill, Johnson was so frustrated by the ins and outs of the recruiting process that he was ready to swear off college. When his football coach, Strait Herron, heard Johnson's frustration might push him away from college altogether he leaned on the community and Johnson's cousins, Johnathan Joseph and Jonathan Hefney, to nudge him in the direction of a full scholarship ride to Butler Community College in Kansas.
