BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team concluded the UB Invitational on Sunday with an impressive performance in singles as four Buffalo players found its way into the finals of its respective flights, including two flight champions.
Junior Chantal Martinez Blanco came away with the crown in the Singles Hot Draw, which was the top singles flight of the tournament. She opened the weekend with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Marie Mayerova of Eastern Michigan and then defeated Maria Tritou of Syracuse, 7-5, 7-6 (1). In the finals, she defeated Bowling Green's Paula Comella, 6-3, 6-4.
