Devon Patterson Selected to Represent MAC at NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo track and field athlete Devon Patterson has been selected by the Mid-American Conference to represent the league at the annual NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, which will take place from November 16-19 in Washington D.C.

Patterson won the Mid-American Conference shot put title last season at the conference championships with a throw of 17.83m. He is extremely active in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where he serves as the committee's vice president.

The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend the forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
