WASHINGTON, DC - The University at Buffalo volleyball team swept Coppin State 3-0 in the opening round of the Georgetown Classic on Friday afternoon to improve to 4-2 on the season. The Bulls have already matched their win total from a year ago.
After a tight opening set, it was all Buffalo in the second and third as UB won the match 25-22, 25-14, 25-14. UB outhit Coppin State, .260 to .067. Buffalo's best offensive set came in the final one as UB hit .370 as a team with 12 kills and just two errors.
All 12 Bulls that are healthy got into the match for the first time as head coach Blair Brown Lipsitz emptied her bench with the big lead.
