• The University at Buffalo men's basketball team opens the 2018-19 season on Friday evening with an exhibition against Daemen College. This is the fourth straight year that the Bulls and Wildcats will meet in exhibition action. Dating back to last season, this will be the third straight game against a team with the nickname, Wildcats (Arizona, Kentucky, Daemen).
• For the first time in school history, the Bulls received votes in the preseason AP Poll as UB received 14 votes, good for a tie for 37th in the nation.
• Buffalo became the first program since Kent State to win its third MAC Tournament Championship in a four-year period as the Golden Flashes did it in 1999,2001, 2002.
