Given Saturday's results, Friday's walkoff loss to Arkansas looms a little more disappointing for UB Softball fans. The Bulls fall 8-4 in a rematch against Wright State and 7-1 to Northern Iowa, with a single game against the Panthers remaining on the weekend tomorrow.
The UB offense, so prolific on Friday, could not turn 11 hits into more than four runs - and three of four runs came on homers - against Wright State, and managed only five hits and two walks against Northern Iowa.
In the morning tilt, freshman pitcher Lace Smith allowed three runs in the second inning, on a walk, a single, a sacrifice bunt, and a triple, and Buffalo never got closer than two as Taylor Light stepped in for a few innings but also ultimately surrendered three runs herself.
