BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo wrestlers Kyle Akins and Bryan Lantry were named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I All-Academic Team on Thursday. Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic Team was comprised of 155 student-athletes this year.
Akins was named to the team for the second straight year. The redshirt-junior is a social science interdisciplinary major with a 3.37 grade point average. He went 22-10 on the season, including 10-4 in duals and 5-1 in MAC duals. Akins had 10 takedowns and a team-best five reversals in duals on the season.
