PITTSFORD – The Buffalo Bills signed a linebacker who punched his own quarterback in the jaw in another high-risk move under new head coach Rex Ryan.
One day after linebacker IK Enemkpali fractured the jaw of New York Jets’ Geno Smith in two places – forcing him to miss the next 6-10 weeks – he was claimed by Buffalo.
Expect the unexpected with Ryan. The coach admitted he hadn’t even talked to Enemkpali about the incident.
“IK, he made a mistake,” Ryan said, “there’s no question about that. We had IK last year, a lot of us were around IK and he was a good teammate – simple as that.
