Buffalo Bills punter Cory Carter tears ACL in preseason game

The Buffalo Bills medical staff likely feared the worst after Bills backup punter Cory Carter was interfered with by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jordan Payton and crumpled to the ground during the third quarter of last night’s preseason game. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport: Carter has torn his ACL and is out for the year.

This marks a second devastating injury for the second-year punter. Last year he was waived with an injury designation by the Houston Texans before getting healthy and getting signed to the Bills practice squad.
