One week after saying the Buffalo Bills didn’t want him, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus had the day off. The team announced it as a “sore leg.” So, for one exhibition game, arguably the team’s best player was replaced by Corbin Bryant.
He immediately made noise.
The first play of the game, Pittsburgh center Cody Wallace carried his block through the whistle and, unhappy, Bryant popped him in the shoulder. The second play, Bryant stood up Wallace and drove him into Ben Roethlisberger to blurry the quarterback’s vision on an incompletion.
