Kansas City Chiefs MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes and starting cornerback Bashaud Breeland both left Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns with concussions. The concussion protocol doesn’t have a set number of days, but both will have to progress through independent screening before suiting up in the AFC Championship Game.
Mahomes was tackled on an option play in the third quarter. When he went to the ground, the Browns’ linebacker still had his arm around Mahomes’s neck, and the QB’s head was driven into the turf. His bell clearly rung, it took him a second to get off the ground and he was woozy on his way to the sideline.
