PITTSFORD – The Buffalo Bills were thought to have too many running backs coming into training camp.
Suddenly, though, that depth is being put to the test. Veteran Fred Jackson suffered a hamstring injury during Friday’s practice at St. John Fisher College, and could miss up to two weeks, according to coach Rex Ryan.
“It’s not a terrible one,” Ryan said of Jackson’s injury. “But those things last a couple weeks. So that was really unfortunate.”
Jackson, who at 34 is the oldest running back in the NFL, has been dealing with a heavier workload than perhaps the team would have liked over the past few days.
