CLEVELAND – The Buffalo Bills were serious about giving Tyrod Taylor the fullest stage possible in his first start of the preseason Thursday night.
But when the game was over, a familiar – and perhaps forgotten – face in the Bills’ quarterback derby emerged to deliver with the winning points of an 11-10 nationally televised victory against the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Bills kept Matt Cassel, considered the other main challenger for the starting quarterback job, in uniform and on the sidelines for the entire game while Taylor played the first half.
Preseason games are typically difficult to watch, and this one was a snoozer for the better part of three quarters.
