The Buffalo Bills don’t punt very much of late. That’s a good thing, as they have boasted an elite offense for the entirety of this decade. In past years, we’ve discussed how Buffalo’s punting gig is really a holding competition, where the job referenced in the title is actually secondary to the main job the punter will do throughout the season.
While that may be technically true (Sam Martin punted 150 times over the last three regular seasons for the Bills, but between extra-point attempts and field goal attempts, he held for 253 kicks by Tyler Bass), a good punter who can flip the field and pin opponents deep is still a valuable asset for a squad.
