Woj: Dinwiddie to undergo thumb surgery Monday

The decision has been made: Spencer Dinwiddie has chosen to have surgery on torn ligaments in his right thumb, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie will have surgery on Monday to repair torn ligaments in his right thumb, league sources tell ESPN.

On Friday, there was speculation that Dinwiddie might try to play through the pain, but it was always more likely he would go for the surgery. The Nets have yet to provide details on the surgery, and almost certainly will not provide a timeframe for his return but typically, thumb ligament surgery means four to six weeks lost.
