Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors retained his unofficial title of the world’s best shooter Friday night, but the New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu made him sweat in a tight contest between the NBA and WNBA’s best bucker-getters at the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
The closeness of the Starry Night Contest, the first between a man and woman in All-Star history, corroborated what Ionescu has said, including in the immediate aftermath of contest, “If you can shoot, you can shoot. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl.”
Unfortunately, Ionescu’s achievement was seemingly belittled by one of the TNT’s all-male crew of analysts, this time TNT’s Kenny Smith.
