The Nets won the first title in franchise history behind Julius Erving’s 20 points and 16 rebounds. Rookie Larry Kennon (23 points) and Billy Paultz (21 points) helped seal the deal in coach Kevin Loughery’s first season after the Nets had come up short in the playoffs for four straight years.
