Nets’ system drew Kevin Durant to Brooklyn: GM Sean Marks

Kevin Durant was watching, and he liked what he saw.

According to Nets GM Sean Marks, the marquee free agent is a fan of how his new team plays. Marks shared on WFAN on Tuesday that Durant told him, shortly after he announced he was coming to Brooklyn, “I love the system. I love how you guys play. I see how hard you guys play … you were never out of games. We [the Warriors] could never take you guys lightly.”

Coach Kenny Atkinson’s relentless style of play was attractive to Durant, who signed a four-year, $164 contract with the Nets, as well as Kyrie Irving, in Brooklyn on a four-year, $136 million deal.
