BOSTON — From shirts and taunts of “Where’s Kyrie?” to incessant chants of “Kyrie sucks” — and worse — Celtics fans let the Nets know what they think of their new point guard and former Boston star.
Then they rode Kyrie Irving’s replacement to a 121-110 victory over the shorthanded Nets before a riled-up, sellout crowd of 19,156 at TD Garden.
The defeat snapped the Nets’ four-game winning streak and dropped them to 5-2 since Irving suffered a right shoulder impingement.
Irving bolted Boston for Brooklyn in free agency, and Celtics fans have been incensed ever since.
