Nets’ Caris LeVert out indefinitely after undergoing thumb surgery

DENVER – The Nets’ Caris LeVert fears were realized, with the young wing requiring surgery to repair ligaments in his right thumb.

Brooklyn had sent LeVert back to New York from its road trip to be evaluated by specialists. And after being looked at, LeVert promptly had a procedure performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery. It’s the latest in a long list of injuries suffered by the 25-year-old LeVert.

As is their custom, the Nets declined to give any timeline for LeVert’s return. But past history is certainly a cause for concern, especially with starting backcourt-mate Kyrie Irving suffering from a right shoulder impingement and listed as questionable for Thursday’s game in Denver against the Nuggets.
