PHILADELPHIA — Joel Embiid is listed as doubtful for the Nets’ playoff opener against the 76ers on Saturday. That means ostensibly there’s around a 75 percent chance Embiid won’t play. The Nets, however, are putting it at zero.
“I’m not thinking [about that]. We’re only preparing for Embiid. We haven’t gone [down that road],” Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said. “I didn’t want to [go there]. If you give the players that kind of thought, they’re not as prepared. It’s just my feeling. So we’re just 100 percent preparing like he’s going to play. We’ll adjust if he doesn’t.
