It was exactly a year ago today when the Nets agreed to trade Mikal Bridges to the Knicks — the same moment every Brooklyn Nets fan open a sharpie marker and circled June 25, 2025 on their calendar.
It’s something they honestly should have done after the Kevin Durant trade a year prior, but nobody wanted to admit it back then.
Between those moves, the Nets enriched their future at the expense of the present. It’s something many NBA teams have done before, but not the Nets, at least not recently. That’s what made it so foreign.
