Kenny Atkinson initially denied last week that Kyrie Irving is suffering from bursitis in his shoulder, but the Nets’ coach insists the organization and the injured All-Star guard are on the same page after he confirmed that diagnosis and revealed that he might require surgery while speaking to reporters on Saturday.
The Nets had maintained since Irving was injured Nov. 14 in Denver that he was suffering from a shoulder impingement.
“Yeah, I mean, yes, problem is, I’m not a medical expert. That’s one of the issues,” Atkinson said before the Nets’ 111-103 overtime loss to the Thunder.
