SACRAMENTO — The Nets’ bench saved their starters. They may have saved their chances at making the playoffs, too, leading a miracle 123-121 win over the Kings.
Reserves Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Jared Dudley and Treveon Graham played all but five seconds of the pivotal fourth quarter that saw Brooklyn outscore Sacramento 45-18. Hollis-Jefferson had 12 points, including the game-winning drive with 0.8 seconds left.
“We got every rebound, sharing the ball and [D’Angelo Russell] went Kobe out there,” said Dudley, who hit a go-ahead 3-pointer off a Russell feed with a minute left.
“We didn’t have it, our starters didn’t have it, our top eight didn’t have it and I was trying to wake them up,” coach Kenny Atkinson said.
