For six young Nets, options are a big deal

Between now and the summer, the Nets front office has several decisions to make — who to take in the draft, who to push for in free agency— but there will also be a series of decisions on what to do with six players already on the roster.

Each of those six have team options. For all but K.J. McDaniels the option is for a vets minimum deal next season. Nothing is guaranteed and decisions are likely to be guided not just by the players’ individual production but what else the Nets do in the summer. Picking up a player like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could affect decisions on which of the backcourt types get retained, for example.
