D’Angelo Russell 2nd; Kenny Atkinson, Sean Marks 5th in NBA Awards

In Monday’s NBA Awards Show, the Nets were shut out but there was progress ... and recognition of how far the organization has come.

Eleven weeks after ballots were turned in and counted, the league handed out its most coveted honors, from MVP to Executive of the Year.

D’Angelo Russell, who led the Nets to their surprising 42-40 record, finished second to the Raptors Pascal Siakem in Most Improved Player voting but the final tally wasn’t that close.

Siakam won 86 out of 100 possible first-place votes for MIP. Russell had 12.
