The Brooklyn Nets were manhandled by the Spurs on Saturday night, sinking their record to 6-16. The Nets rank 14th in the Eastern Conference, just one and a half games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Spurs, on the other hand, now move to 19-5, second in the Western Conference.
Unlike many of the Nets’ games this season, this contest was never in reach. The Spurs got out to a 41-26 lead by the end of the first quarter. Ending the final 2:03 of the first quarter on a 12-0 run, the Spurs had all the momentum heading into the second quarter.
