Brooklyn Nets: 5 takeaways from blowout in Indy

All things being equal, the Brooklyn Nets were fairly evenly matched with the Indiana Pacers on the stat sheet Saturday night, but three key areas were all the difference as the Pacers smacked the Nets 132-112 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The rebounding battle was even at 40-40. Each team made 16 3-pointers. Each team was 14-for-22 at the free-throw line and called for 18 fouls.

But the Pacers (2-1) had a 30-12 edge in points off turnovers, outscored the Nets in the paint 58-40 and hit a smoking-hot 16-of-24 from 3-point land as the Nets (1-2) created bad situations with poor ball-handling, couldn’t keep Indiana away from the basket and didn’t defend the 3 line, either.
