Is this finally the season Brook Lopez will start shooting 3-pointers?
Maybe.
Lopez, long one of the best long-distance shooting big men in the league, had only taken seven 3-pointers during the first six years of his career before going 1-for-10 behind the arc last year. He buried his only attempt from behind the arc in Monday’s 101-96 loss to Turkish club Fenerbahce Ulker, and said it could become a more common part of his arsenal this season.
“I’m not trying to float around the perimeter during the entire game, but if that’s the call I’m confident I can knock it down,” Lopez said after Tuesday’s practice at the team’s New Jersey facility.
