Brooklyn Nets News: Jason Kidd says team doesn't use bulletin-board material

In Brooklyn Nets news today, Nets head coach Jason Kidd says he isn't a follower of the theory that you should use an opponents' words during a playoff series as fuel to get your own team motivated.

So tweets out ESPNNewYork.com writer Ohm Youngmisuk:

The incident that Youngmisuk is referring to happened in a 2004 NBA Playoffs series between the then-New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks. Knicks forward Tim Thomas called out Nets' big man Kenyon Martin, saying that he was "fugazy as far as the whole tough guy role." The incident sparked controversy, but the Nets (and then player Jason Kidd) were already up 2-0 in a series they would win decisively.

With Toronto Raptors' GM Masai Ujiri screaming "F*** Brooklyn" at a Raptors' viewing party before Game 1, many thought Kidd and the veteran Brooklyn Nets would use that as fuel.

However, if you take what Kidd says at face value, they are more worried about winning the next two games at home rather than anything popping up in the media or on their Twitter feeds.
