3 Free Agents The Brooklyn Nets Should Pursue This Offseason

The Brooklyn Nets are in a financial bind heading into the July free agency period, but that's nothing that trades, departures and some creative financing can't paper over. With that being said, here's 3 Free Agents The Brooklyn Nets Should Pursue This Offseason.

PF Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors

Green has emerged as a star in just his second season in the league, but his short and cheap contract from being a second-round pick will come off the books this offseason. Golden State is paying him just $915K this year, but he's in line for a max contract raise either with the Warriors or on the open market. As much as the Warriors would like to keep him, they might not be able to afford it with Klay Thompson’s max extension kicking in next season. The Nets aren't in position to throw max dollars at him, but that hasn't stopped Brooklyn management before.

PF Paul Millsap, Atlanta Hawks

Millsap’s possesses true two-way talent and an underrated motor. He aveeaged 16.7 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Atlanta Hawks in 2014-15, and his deft shooting touch and impressive versatility makes him a prime target for any team in need of frontcourt help. Pairing him up with Brook Lopez could be just the ticket to vault Brooklyn up the Eastern Conference ladder.

C Greg Monroe, Detroit Pistons

If they can’t lock down either of the aforementioned names, the Nets could look to someone like Greg Monroe as the best of consolation prizes. While Monroe's shooting touch/perimeter defense on the switch isn't as advanced as someone like Green and his pure scoring ability doesn't measure up to Millsap, he's a best in the block both on the boards and as an opposing bigs killer when posting up.
