With no visits, BGSU makes the most of recruiting efforts

BOWLING GREEN — Several times this week, Bowling Green's football staff had conversations that sounded more like riddles.

How can the football program conduct business as usual when everything is unusual?

Spring practice was postponed due to coronavirus, which led to mass cancelations and changes in every sport. In college football, shortly before a normally important period for recruiting, the NCAA instituted a dead period, which forbids all in-person recruiting until at least April 15.

Coaches now have huge amounts of time to recruit — but can’t hold visits.

"The whole key to recruiting, in my opinion, is you have to get them on campus," Falcons coach Scot Loeffler said.
