Winning streak comes to an end for BG men against Miami

BOWLING GREEN — With the clock running down, Bowling Green senior forward Trey Diggs took a shot. The 3-pointer bounced off the rim, but was tipped in for Bowling Green to take the lead.

But the clock had run out, and the layup wasn’t counted, forcing Tuesday’s night game between Bowling Green and Miami into overtime.

The back-and-forth on if the last-second layup counted didn’t help the Falcons’ momentum. Bowling Green (14-10) snapped its four-game winning streak against the RedHawks (12-10) in falling 84-79.

“Leading up to that point, there were a lot of things, a lot of small things that we could have done this, that we didn't do that put us in a situation up to the refs,” Senior forward Daeqwon Plowden said.
