BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University senior standout pitcher Connar Penrod has faced a lot of batters during his baseball career.
Going up against his teammate, Garrett Wright, in practices or scrimmages hasn’t been one of his more pleasant experiences.
“He’s not fun to pitch to. I remember one (at-bat) this fall, it was 10 or 11 pitches and ended in a single,” Penrod said. “Just fights off everything, one of the best two-strike approaches I’ve ever seen, and I’m talking, I’ve watched pro ball, everything. Just really hard to get out and almost impossible to strike out.
